Media Coverage: Mestre Doutor and ASCAB Capoeira

Mestre Doutor has performed live at the Kennedy Center Millenium Stage, as part of the program, AmericArtes. He performed as invited guest with Capoeirista Itapua Beiramar (24 April 2002) (see the link to this live performance at Kennedy-Center.org).

Mestre Doutor's influence in Capoeira has led to wide media attention for himself and the ASCAB Capoeira group. He has also been interviewed on the Today Show, featured on Channel 35, and been the subject of several short video documentaries (such as Obrigado) Newspaper and magazine articles have featured both Mestre Doutor and his ASCAB Capoeira group; such accounts include the Philadelphia Weekly (August 30, 2006 and February 14, 2007), The Daily Pennsylvania, The City Paper (Feb. 2002 and November 21, 2006), The Jawn (vol. 3, 2003), and Philly1 (July 2004), Broad Street Review (September 14, 2006 and February 22, 2007), San Diego City Beat (January 4, 2006), The Triangle (September 23, 2004) and Reading Eagle (March 4, 2006).

Beyond visual, print, and musical media, Mestre Doutor travels widely for invitations across the U.S., as well as for inter-cultural shows, festivals, song competitions, and batizados (ceremonies of graduation and competition) both in the U.S. and Brazil.
